The circle marker layer paints circles that are linearly proportional to the value of the aggregate. When using one measure, both the size and color of the circle correspond to the value of the aggregate measure. When using two measures, the first measurement specifies the size of the circle, and the second measurement specifies its color.
The circle marker layer is not on by default.
The add the Circle Map Layer to the visual, select Add Circle Map Layer, and click Apply.
Note that in this interactive Google Map with Circle Mark layer option.
Similarly, the Mapbox map renders without the Heatmap layer option.
To better understand what the relative circle size means, select the Add Circle Layer Size Legend option, and click Apply.
Note that the area legend now appears on the lower-right corner of the Google Map with Circle Marker Layer.

Adding color to the Circle Marker Layer makes it easier to distinguish the points by both color and area size, especially when many points overlap.
Under Circle Color Options, select the Color Palette option. At the same time, select Add Circle Layer Color Legend. Now click Apply.
Here is an example of a Google Map with a Circle Marker Layer, using multiple colors from a color palette. Note that both the color and area legends represent the same measurement.

The Circle Marker Layer, unlike the other layers, can plot an additional measurement. Here, in addition to location and count of features, we added the measurement of its elevation to the Measures shelf. The Layer Options settings is the same as for the following example.
Here is the Google Map with a Circle Marker Layer, plotting two measures: elevation, and count of features. Notice that the first measure appears as colors you can check in the color legend, while the second measurement displays as size that you can see in the area legend.
Similarly, the Mapbox map with a Circle Marker Layer and two measures: elevation, and count of features. elevation appears as colors, and feature count is represented by the area of the circle.
To change the size of the circles in the Circle Marker Layer, adjust the settings of the Circle Area Range, and click Apply.
Note that the minimum measurement is 100
, and the maximum measurement is 10000
.
In this example, we are back to using a single measurement and a single color.
