Certifications

Arcadia Data certifies the following component categories:

Partner Integration

We integrated and certified the current version of Arcadia Enterprise to work with the following partners and their products. You must upgrade CDH, HDP, or MapR to the supported version before upgrading Arcadia Enterprise to the current release.

When using Cloudera Manager for installation, we certify CDH 5.12, 5.13, 5.14, 5.15, 6.0, and 6.1 on Red Hat 6.x and Red Hat 7.x, and on CentOS 6.x and 7.x.

AWS EMR

We certify EMR 5.20.0 on AWS installations.

Supported MetaStores

We certify Arcadia Enterprise with the following metadata servers:

  • SQLite

This option does not support multi-process ArcViz.

We certify Arcadia Instant with SQLite MetaStore.

  • MySql

Supports multi-process ArcViz in CDH, with 3 processes by default.

  • Oracle

Supports multi-process ArcViz in CDH, with 3 processes by default.

  • PostgreSQL

Supports multi-process ArcViz in CDH, with 3 processes by default.

Supported Data Storage

We certify Arcadia Enterprise on these data storage solutions:

HDFS

All formats support analytical views. However, Arcadia Engine stores these analytical views in Parquet format.

Amazon S3

Supports same file formats and analytical views as HDFS and Microsoft Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS).

Microsoft Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS)

Supports same file formats as HDFS and Amazon S3.

Starting with Release 4.2.0.0, Arcadia Enterprise can write to ADLS.

See the following information: Microsoft Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS).

Apache Kudu

Starting with Release 4.2.0.0, Arcadia Enterprise can perform the following operations on Kudu tables: INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and UPSERT.

Starting with Release 4.5.0.0, we introduced Sequence-Based Analytical Views to support Kudu format. Arcadia Engine stores these analytical views in Kudu format.

To access Kudu tables on Hive connections, if you need to bypass Sentry authorization, see our instructions in Authorization with Sentry.

See the following information: Apache Kudu.

Mobile Devices

In addition to desktop use, you may access Arcadia Data (in View mode only) from many mobile devices.

This allows you to provide access to insightful information at a summary level, and quickly informs the user if there is an issue that needs deeper investigation.

We certified the following devices to display visuals and dashboards:

  • Android OS smartphones
  • iOS smartphones
  • iOS tablets

While you cannot manipulate datasets, or edit visuals and dashboards, you can access all existing visuals for which you have view permissions in View mode, and use existing filters and drill-downs. The URL address syntax is of the following type:

[ip_address]/arc/apps/app/[app_id]

Here is an example of a Chord visual SF CabRides Analysis on an Android smartphone.

Tip.

We recommend that dashboards designed for mobile viewing be simple and intuitive, and minimize the need for scrolling. The visuals should use a small number of dimensions so as not to clutter a small screen, and filters should be minimal.

Internet Browsers

We certify Arcadia Enterprise to run on the latest versions Chrome, IE, and Microsoft Edge browsers.
